"Rod is an exceptional UXer, instructor and learning designer - and he blends these skills into amazing learning experiences. In fact, Rod’s expertise was instrumental in the latest (and greatest) version of our UX Bootcamp. His attention to the student experience and learner outcomes is impressive and he’s an awesome collaborator, thought-partner, researcher and human!"
Leader of Learning & Innovation

"Rod is truly the collaborator of dreams - not only a skilled designer, thoughtful researcher, and innovative problem solver, but also a kind, empathetic human. When describing him, I could list all of his design skills, such as his user centricity, the excellent learning materials he builds, or his understanding of how to apply learning science principles to design work, and those alone would make him one of my favorite people to work with. That said, what really sets him apart is his ability to create clarity in ambiguity, which always makes it feel like no problem is ever truly hard to solve. A one-of-a-kind UX and learning designer, I can't wait for our next project together."
Senior Product Manager

"Rod brings a high level of organizational skills, systematic thinking, and a user-centered focus to his work. This, combined with his passion for education, make him an invaluable collaborator."

Top Senior Talent
You'll work with Senior UX Designers specializing in EdTech and learning products. We know the education industry and we know learning design best practices.
Cost Efficiency
The average Senior UX Designer yearly salary is $155,488, or about $12,900 a month. And that's without benefits. With us, you'll work with experienced UX designers for less than 1/11th the price! Why? We’re testing this on a small scale and you only pay for your requests, so we get rid of all the extra fluff.
Skip the Hiring Process
Hiring a designer is tedious and costly. It also sucks time and energy away more important tasks. We get you set up right away upon onboarding.
Fast Delivery
Most requests are turned around in two business days. More complex requests may take longer.
Easy-to-Use
You have a dedicated board where you can submit as many requests as you’d like. We take care of one request at a time.
Guaranteed Satisfaction
Revisions until you are happy.
No minimum commitment
If after one month you are done with us, you can stop the subscription. You can also restart whenever you want.
What is not included in the subscription?
We don’t create learning content from scratch. This requires subject matter experts. If you have all the content you need to create a course already, we can help you with creating the learning experience from that content.
We don’t facilitate live research activities, such as live interviews or moderated usability testing. Facilitating live sessions take extra time and resources. However, we do work with most unmoderated forms of research (surveys, unmoderated usability testing, etc.), but the timeline for these requests will vary because it takes time to get data
*If you would like to live sessions done, we can assess an extra fee for this based on the type of research.
In general, we don't do development: providing and implementing the tools and resources to make a website, software, or app to work correctly from a technical standpoint. We work with your team of developers (or relevant stakeholders) to make sure our designs are technically feasible with your technical requirements. However, we can make recommendations and guide you to the right resources based on your specific needs.
Lastly, we don’t do graphic design (such as logos and animation) and print design. We only do digital UX design and learning design.
What does 'unlimited requests' mean?
You can submit as many requests as you want once subscribed, and we will deliver each request one-by-one.
What programs do you use to design?
Most UX design requests are done using Figma. Other requests, such as learning design, are done using the most appropriate tool, or a tool that you prefer.
What is your refund policy?
Due to the low price and high quality nature of the work, there are no refunds. You can, however, request unlimited revisions until you are 100% satisfied.
Who are the designers at 7th period?
You’ll be working directly with me, Rod Hinn, the founder of 7th period. My primary partner designer, Priscilla Cao, also helps me provide this service and we both represent the main designers of 7th period. Any specialized requests (graphic design, custom illustration, subject matter expertise, video, audio, etc.) may be provided by other partner designers and providers. However all requests are managed and overseen by me to ensure the highest quality possible from both a UX and learning perspective.
